So today’s free tutorial is about Welt Pocket
What is a Welt Pocket?
A welt pocket is a pocket whose basic construction involves the pocket being attached to the inside of a lined garment, and they are usually (but not always) located on the garment where no other seaming is available to allow other typical inside-the-garment pocket styles (like pockets placed in the side seams of pants, skirts, etc).
So they are usually attached to jackets, trousers, skirts, vests etc.
There are two types of Welt pocket-
- Single welt pocket
- Double welt pocket
Both can be used interchangeably depending on how you want the outfit to look.
Therefore below is a tutorial on how to make both a single welt pocket and a double welt pocket
